No, I'm not dead.

Man, I can't believe 8 passed! It makes me really sad, honestly, when it passes and even the two most homophobic people I know voted no on it! My aunt is Mormon, and I'm pretty sure she and my uncle would have CAMPAIGNED yes on it; I don't know how I should face them if the issue is risen come Thanksgiving when we usually go to dinner at her house. In other news, I do think it is momentous that Obama got elected; my hope is that, by breaking down racial barriers, then maybe people can start to accept non-racial ones as well.

Also, did anybody hear about Mark? Major bummer, though I'm glad the DF is such a tight-knit community as to bail each other out of jail! (I have many friends who wouldn't do that for each other, let alone me)

As per my situation at the moment, school may as well be killing me. I don't know about all you Bay Area folk or how your school system works, but here I'm expected to get up at 6:30 am everyday, be at school till 3:30 (2:30 on Weds/Thurs) and do 2 hours of homework as well as balance everything else in my life. I feel lucky at this point, I guess, that I'm not a drama or a sports kid because after school sports don't often get over till 7 or so, and then the musical has been keeping a majority of the drama kids at school till about 10 or even later this past week. As a result, pretty much every kid at my school doesn't get more than 7.5 hours of sleep a night. That doesn't sound too healthy...

Either way, at least my grades are passable again (B's/A's, maybe a C) and I'm allowed back on the boards again/to associate with the DF again. Yay.

Oh, and yes to Cheesecake Factory/Ice skating '08! :)

P.S. What's going on in the San Francisco area in the next few weeks? I might get to go down there and I want something other to do than shell out cash for tourist-trap things (not that they aren't bad, but I'm broke right now). Thanks!

wait. woah. i sincerely hope you're kidding me by complaining about SEVEN-AND-A-HALF hours of sleep and only TWO hours of homework a day.

that's, like, nothing. i'm wondering what you think is "normal" if you're complaining about that.

sorry, i don't want to sound mean, but welcome to high school.

Pretty much. I guess I'm not trying to complain about it so much as I think that's ridiculous for kids our age. In truth, most kids at my school get 1.5 hours a night and have 5-6 hours of homework plus three sports/other extracurriculars.

I find it ridiculous for kids our age because the natural teenage sleeping pattern is 2-11am. You're a senior, right Nee-Sa? How many classes does your school have as a minimum for senior year? Here it's 5 I think.

yeah, here it's five. but idk why it matters...those five could be

english, gov/econ, art, t.a., and drama for one kid,

and ap english, gov/econ, ap bio, ap calc bc, and ap statistics for another kid.

so it's all relative.
