So this weekend I went home (sort of). I went back to Hollister for all of one night before I drove two and a half hours to Modesto to visit my friend and see two local bands from Hollister play. It was a little ridiculous. We went to a no on prop 8 rally and got flipped off and talked to by, for lack of a better term, religious zealots. All I have to say about that though is it's useless to argue with someone about religion because there's not much logic in religion and it's going to take more than an hour of argument to change someone's beliefs. Obviously my protest wasn't half as exciting as everyone else's. Anyway, my friend set up this whole show for the band, Exhibit A, and told everyone that he was going to have all of his new friends come and that there would be people there to watch and the audience ended up being mostly people from Hollister. I think there were five people from Modesto and around 15 from Hollister. So it seemed like a waste of time almost except that I had all kinds of fun. I saw people from Hollister that I hadn't seen for so long and got to hang out with my friends, but then I had to drive back at 1:30 in the morning which sucked. I didn't get home until 3:30 and that was only because I sped the whole way. I was going to come back on Sunday and do homework but instead I came back on Sunday slept, read, and slept some more. So I woke up early on Monday and finished a powerpoint for my science class and emailed it to my professor 45 minutes before class started and I had to present. I'm kind of happy I did that though because otherwise I would have been at that mess at Stonestown (while I am a twilight fan I am not that huge of one, I would have been going to get christmas presents for my megafan friends.) So I'm happy that I have today off, it's a nice little break, but I have a group project to do with these two other people due tomorrow and we were going to get together last night but it didn't happen so I'm probably going to spend all of this afternoon working on that. ALSO, last night at 2 am the stupid FIRE ALARM went off in our building so I had to evacuate. That did not make me happy, but whatever. I feel good today. I hope everyone has a great week! I cannot wait for Thanksgiving break.
