January

Hello everyone.
Somehow, we didn't update this blog very often this month. I haven't posted at all. So, a quick recap:

Beginning of the month was the last half of Christmas vacation. I was in München (Munich) over New Year's to visit my aunt.

School started on Wednesday, the 7th. But the Friday after that I got sick. I had a headache, fever, chills, etc. Saturday I was fine, Sunday I felt like crap. Monday was fine again. Tuesday was the worst, so I went to the hospital for that day (the 13th), where I was diagnosed with pneumonia and got antibiotics per IV. So then I had to stay home for the rest of the week. I feel better now, though.

I wanted to watch the Inauguration (it would have been at 6pm for me), but I had to go to a dermatologist. I didn't have an appointment, which sucked, because I had to wait for 2 1/2 hours. But what I went there for is fixed now too.

I got my report card on Friday.

I visited friends in former East Germany this weekend. They used to live in California, but then they moved back to Germany. They have five boys, so their house is rarely quiet. The father is my sister's godfather.

What else? Hmm... oh, my mother is coming to visit me in about two weeks. We're going to celebrate Karneval together.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Lena

i'm having a solo night in tonight with a hot cup of tea, dvds on the laptop, and cheese pizza on the way.

i can't wait until i'm 18, because then i can try out for reality tv shows. i want to go on parental control. bad.

also, i can't wait until i have my own house to decorate. i want to buy wall hangings and area rugs :(

anyway, so finals are over; my life is officially a joke. i'll be going to school from 8-1145 from now on. school in the mornings, work at night. i need to find a part-time job. any suggestions? i think i want to send my resume to this bakery in the town next to me that specializes in high-end cupcakes. they are really delicious, though (they were the ones i brought to lena's going away picnic)...

i'm planning on soliciting my makeup artistry services for the upcoming winter ball/deb ball/prom season...also i'm going to go and sell a bunch more clothes to buffalo exchange soon.

speaking of that, my best friend
"mentioned" today that she's going to be a deb. she tried to be sly, like she had told me, but she totally had not. and she's not inviting me. idk what's u, but something fishy is going on. idk if it's because she's embarrassed or what, but the whole thing is weird because she never told me for some reason (?).

whateva.

i'm going to the academy of sciences tomorrow, which will be awesome. i want to see the albino alligator! and my friend's cousin is a security guard there and he's going to get us in the back for free haha.

and then february's going to be nuts, jet-setting month. i'm going to hawaii for a few days at the beginning of the month and then san diego for the first time in forever over presidents day.

suddenly, my life just got a whole lot simpler. hello, second-semester-senioritis.

How was your inaugural experience?

I watched from my living room in my jammies. Not the most exciting, but it was still a completely amazing moment in my life. Having faith in my government is really an unfamiliar concept for me.

I know some of you went out to watch the event, and I want to hear about it.
